Engineering Manager, Mobile

WarsawApply now

The Mobile Web App Engineering team's mission is to enable teams to work together effortlessly—even when they are away from their desktops. The Mobile team works to provide just that: a seamless experience for our users who are on the go. We work hard to maintain a codebase and a culture that is a joy to work in by combining tried and true mobile best practices with many of the innovative opportunities that our in-house framework, Luna, provides. You'll be joining an engineering team that collaborates closely with Product Designers, PMs, and other product engineering teams to enhance the Asana experience for on-the-go customers. You'll contribute from inception to post-launch, embodying deep empathy for coworkers and users alike to create a product that improves how teams collaborate globally.

This role is based in our Warsaw office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve

  • Build and grow a critical new mobile engineering team, as one of the first engineering teams landing in our Warsaw office.
  • Collaborate with recruiting, our site lead, and other managers to expand the team and grow the office: source & interview candidates, strengthen our engineering talent brand in the region, and onboard new employees.
  • Coach Android and iOS engineers in their technical and professional development to maintain a high velocity and technical quality bar.
  • Build, staff, and manage the execution of mobile product roadmaps in partnership with engineering leads and cross-functional partners across the organization.
  • Work with engineering leaders across the organization to drive the culture and vibe of our Warsaw office, ensuring it is balanced, high-performing, inclusive, transparent, and aligned with our values.

About you

  • 8+ years of experience in the technology industry, with 3+ years managing a technical team.
  • 4+ years hands-on experience building native Android or iOS applications or leading mobile engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills with experience working cross-functionally with product managers and designers, as well as across timezones with other internal offices.
  • Focused on maximizing impact for yourself, your team, and Asana as a whole.
  • Autonomous and comfortable with ambiguity; adept at figuring out what needs to be done and then making it happen.

At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

What we’ll offer
