We are the Mobile Foundations team at Asana - we exist to ship innovation across product and infrastructure for our Asana mobile apps. We are looking for an iOS engineer to help us create top-notch iOS experiences for our global Asana customers on-the-go. Our fullstack team is responsible for creating new user experiences, building frameworks, component libraries and tooling across our iOS/Android/Server stack. We work hard to maintain a codebase and a culture that is a joy to work in by combining tried and true mobile best practices. You’ll delight our internal users with platform improvements to help them work efficiently and effortlessly. There will also be opportunities to work closely with our award-winning Design team, world-class Product Managers and Data Scientists. 

Software Engineers at Asana are quickly trusted to own major parts of both the codebase and our processes through the Areas of Responsibility system. We expect you to thrive as a leader in defining and solving problems, with mutual support from your peers.

This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve

  • Build and ship high-quality features for millions of iOS users in collaboration with Product and Design partners.
  • Make improvements, and advocate for code quality, test coverage, addressing technical debt, and user experience.
  • Crafting well-documented, well-structured, and well-tested code.
  • Help others on the team improve by providing thoughtful feedback in code/design reviews, and mentoring others in areas you are knowledgeable in.
  • Enable Asana’s Mobile teams to leverage the latest practices, tooling and SDKs.
  • Contributing to Asana-wide cross-platform feature launches.
  • Own and contribute to AoRs (Areas Of Responsibility).

About you

  • 3+ years of experience developing, releasing, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications. Ideally using Swift.
  • Aware of the latest developments in mobile development.
  • Committed to leave code better than you found it.
  • Passion for crafting a delightful end-user experience whether you’re building developer tools or a new login button.
  • Demonstrated strength as a communicator and collaborator.
  • Good judgment for balancing scrappiness and long-term code maintainability.

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $146,000 - $178,000 CAD. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
