We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Product Owner to join our Enterprise Technology/Martech team and lead the development and evolution of our Customer Data Platform (CDP). In this role, you will be responsible for systemizing requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a best-in-class CDP solution that meets the needs of our enterprise stakeholders.

The enterprise technology team supports insights with data and the technical systems that give our teams leverage to accomplish their goals. We work cross-functionally with Asana’s business teams to understand their objectives and ensure they have the data and technical support they need to reach our audience.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve

  • Requirement Gathering: Work closely with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between various teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success, to ensure alignment and successful execution of the product roadmap.

  • Release Planning: Coordinate with the development team to plan and execute product releases, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user acceptance testing.

  • Business Intelligence Support: Assist our analytics team by providing the necessary data in the appropriate format, based activity tracked by the CDP

  • Implementation: Establish the implementation strategy for a set of requirements regarding CDP orchestrations

  • Data Analysis: Perform data analysis from the data warehouse and related sources to estimate opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and assess data quality

  • Business Enablement: Facilitate and empower business teams by ensuring their self-service needs in CDP are fulfilled, particularly regarding custom data transformations and activations.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Proven experience (6 years) working as a Product Owner or similar role related to CDPs

  • In-depth understanding of customer data platforms (CDPs), data management principles, and related technologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans and deliverables.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Asana

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a track record of driving product innovation and success in a fast-paced environment.

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $173,000-$221,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
