Earlier this month, we shared a deck of productivity cards to help teams find a #winninghand in 2016. And for fun, we asked you to submit your own productivity tips. What we got was a deluge of brilliant advice from creative and industrious minds across the world.

We got tips in all sorts of categories, themes, and languages! Our shortest tip was simply “8.” Our most amphibious: “Eat The Frog.” (It’s real advice!)

Here are a few of our favorite tips so far, along with some ideas on how Asana can help you make the most of them:

Create a prioritization matrix template

Take the guesswork out of task prioritization by creating a prioritization matrix template in Asana. Prioritize your work by business impact and expected effort, so you can be confident you’re focusing on the most important work.

Smaller is better

The tip: When creating a task, ask yourself, does it make sense to break this into smaller tasks? The result: tasks are easier to manage and your team sees more unicorns. – Amanda

How Asana can help: Writing the perfect task isn’t easy, but we agree that smaller is better. Subtasks in Asana help you break work down into the smallest pieces and keep track of every step along the way.

Track your time

The tip: Even if you don’t have direct customers you need to bill, tracking how you spend your day is more enlightening than most people realize. – Josh

How Asana can help:Asana integrates with Harvest, a time tracking app, so that you can see exactly how much time you’re spending on each task.

Minimize interruptions

The tip: Set time to be away from your phone, email, social media, etc. – Jennifer

How Asana can help: When you’re focusing on one task in Asana, use full screen mode to minimize distractions. We also recommend you enter full screen mode on your browser for optimal focus.

You’re not a robot

The tip: Schedule breaks throughout the day to refresh and recharge. – Jonathan

How Asana can help: In Asana, you can plan your day using Today, Upcoming, and Later. This way, you know exactly what tasks you have left to do for the day, and you can schedule your breaks accordingly. 😎

Thank you

Thanks to everyone who submitted a tip already. If you haven’t yet, there’s still a chance to win a productivity prize pack for your submission! We’ll announce the winners on Twitter and Facebook. We hope some of these cards will inspire you and your team to have a productive 2016.
