Head of Solutions & Technology
TokyoApply nowThe Head of Solutions & Technology, Japan will lead and scale our customer-facing technical function, owning both the Solutions Consulting team and a Technical Account Manager in Tokyo. This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product to drive technical strategy across the full customer lifecycle—from pre-sales solution design to post-sales adoption and expansion. As a senior leader in Japan, you will be responsible for developing technical talent, influencing go-to-market strategy, and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable business impact for customers. This is a highly visible role that blends people leadership, technical expertise, and executive-level stakeholder engagement.
This role is based in our Tokyo office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Solutions Consulting team and a Technical Account Manager in Japan, setting clear expectations and career development paths
- Own the technical strategy for pre-sales and post-sales engagements, ensuring strong solution design, successful implementations, and long-term customer value
- Partner with Sales leadership to support complex enterprise deals, executive presentations, and technical decision-making
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers, translating business needs into scalable and secure solutions
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to provide market feedback, influence roadmap priorities, and represent Japan customer needs
- Establish best practices, frameworks, and metrics to improve solution quality, efficiency, and customer outcomes
About you:
- 10+ years of experience in solutions consulting, sales engineering, technical consulting, or related customer-facing technical roles, with people management experience
- Proven track record leading and developing technical teams in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand complex architectures while communicating clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience partnering with Sales, Customer Success, and Product at a strategic level
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and executives, both internally and externally
- Business-level fluency in Japanese and English
- Experience working in or supporting the Japan market is strongly preferred
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
