Fall has officially arrived in San Francisco, and for many Asanas this change of weather also signals a change of wardrobe. Being the mission-driven team that we are, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to infuse a little heartitude into our seasonal closet clean out. Instead of hosting a run-of-the-mill clothing swap, Asana’s employee resource groups (ERGs) decided to donate collected items to The Women’s Building, Freedom for Immigrants, and Openhouse. These charities tackle some seriously important work in our community. From providing free legal and financial services to local families, to ensuring safe access to housing and health services for LGBTQ-identifying seniors, each group’s mission maps directly back to the causes and issues we care about in AsanaWomen, Gradient, and TeamRainbow.
Nearly 100 San Francisco-based Asanas and friends participated in the swap. Together we collected more than 12 bags (that’s 300 pieces) of clothing, footwear, and accessories for Community Thrift Store, which sells donations and disburses proceeds to charity partners.
Check out our video recap of the clothing swap below, including the impromptu runway show that kicked off to a very aptly-themed clothing swap playlist.
