At Asana, our mission is to help humanity thrive by enabling the world’s teams to work together effortlessly. This mission extends far beyond just our product; it’s deeply woven into how we operate as a company, our commitment to our people, and our impact on the planet.
That’s why we’re excited to share our Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report. This report isn't just a collection of data; it's a look at how we're building a resilient and sustainable business, integrating ESG practices into everything we do.
Our FY25 ESG Report showcases how Asana is embedding purpose-driven innovation across all aspects of our business. It details our progress in fostering an empowered culture for our employees, minimizing our environmental footprint, and developing products that enable our customers to achieve their goals more efficiently and sustainably. As our CEO and Co-founder, Dustin Moskovitz, emphasizes in his letter, "Our mission has never been more relevant, and our team has never been stronger." This report reflects our dedication to responsible innovation and building a resilient company grounded in integrity and trust.
We believe that true progress comes from addressing the interconnectedness of our operations, our people, and the world around us. This year's report, anchored in our core tenets of People, Planet, and Product, highlights significant strides that demonstrate our commitment to long-term value creation and sustainable growth.
We're proud of the progress we've made in building a more sustainable future for work:
Deepening Our Commitment to the Planet: We've deepened our commitment to environmental stewardship, maintaining 100% renewable electricity across all global operations and have been carbon neutral since FY22. In FY25, we reduced our total emissions by 10% year-over-year and earned two new green building certifications across our global offices, bringing our certified occupied square footage to 92%. We also diverted 2,742 pounds of electronic waste through partnerships, and our HQ's graywater reclamation system saved over 931,000 gallons of domestic water.
Leading with Responsible AI: Our approach to AI is guided by principles that prioritize human potential. The launch of AI Studio in FY25 enabled teams to design AI-integrated workflows, and a survey revealed that 71% of our employees found generative AI useful in their work. To foster responsible innovation, we integrated AI literacy modules into new-hire training, empowering our teams to build and use AI thoughtfully and confidently.
Fostering an Empowered and Inclusive Culture: Our commitment to our people and creating a thriving environment continues to be recognized broadly. For the seventh consecutive year, we were named among Inc. magazine's Best Places to Work 2024, and recognized by Great Place to Work and Fortune as a Best Workplace in the Bay Area for eight years running. A testament to our inclusive culture, 95% of our new hires recommend Asana as a great workplace.
Investing in Well-being and Growth: We are committed to holistically supporting our Asanas. This year, we provided 16 weeks of paid parental leave globally and offered up to eight free therapy and coaching sessions annually to support mental and physical well-being. We also introduced an enhanced retirement plan contribution benefit in key regions and provided a $10,000 lifetime reimbursement for family-forming journeys. Furthermore, 61% of Asanas utilized their individual Career Growth Budget to invest in professional development.
Driving Social Impact and Philanthropy: Our culture of giving is strong, highlighted by our support for the Pledge 1% global movement. This commitment extends to our co-founders, who have pledged 100% of their Asana equity for philanthropic endeavors. In FY25, we reinforced this by matching employee donations for a combined total of over $60,000, collectively contributing to meaningful causes and building a legacy of positive impact.
This report covers Asana’s global operations for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2025. To ensure transparency and align with industry best practices, our data and disclosures are reported in line with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
