Automate your project management workflows by connecting WordPress activities to Asana tasks and projects. Trigger actions from task approvals, updates, comments, or custom field changes, and respond by creating tasks, adding comments, or tagging tasks, all from within WordPress.

Available Triggers:

  • An approval task is set to a status
  • A comment is added to a task in a specific project
  • A task is created in a specific project
  • A task's custom field is set to a specific value
  • A task is updated in a specific project

Available Actions:

  • Add a comment to a task in a specific project
  • Add a tag to a task in a specific project
  • Create a task in a specific project

How to connect Uncanny Automator + Asana?

You’ll need access to a WordPress site (this can be a test or staging site).

  1. Download and install the plugin. Get Uncanny Automator for free from WordPress.org: https://wordpress.org/plugins/uncanny-automator/ ( Help for plugin installation can be found here: https://automatorplugin.com/knowledge-base/installing-uncanny-automator/)
  2. After activation, you’ll be prompted to register on the Uncanny Automator site. A free account gives you credits so you can test app integrations like Asana.
  3. Connect the Asana integration. Go to Automator → Settings → App integrations in your WordPress dashboard. Find Asana and follow the prompts to connect your Asana account.
  4. Create a test recipe. Navigate to Automator → Add new recipe. Select Asana as your app. Choose a trigger (e.g., When a task is created in a specific project). Add an action (e.g., Create a task in a specific project). Save and test the recipe.
