Install SpecStream for Asana

What is SpecStream?

SpecStream is the live web data engine for teams and agents, and this app brings it into Asana. From any Asana task, open SpecStream, describe the data you need in plain words, and see the price before anything runs. Approve it in the form, and each record SpecStream finds arrives as a subtask on that task, with every value linked to the page it was read from. Lists you already have in SpecStream attach to an Asana task by search or by pasting the list's link. A widget on the task shows the list, so everyone on the task works from the same records. Each record is a normal Asana subtask, so your team can assign it, comment on it and track it like any other work.

How to connect SpecStream + Asana?

Follow these steps to connect SpecStream and Asana:

  1. In a project, open Customize, click + Add app and choose SpecStream.

  2. In the window that opens, allow SpecStream to read and write tasks, then sign in to SpecStream (or create an account: new accounts start with $10 of work, no card) and approve.

  3. Open a task, go to Apps, SpecStream, and click Find with SpecStream. Write what to find (the form starts from the task name), choose how many, and keep "Add each record as a subtask" on.

  4. The form shows the most it can cost. Tick "Approve up to" the price and submit.

  5. The list appears on the task. When it's finished, each record is a subtask with its values and the pages they were read on.

To attach a list you already have: Apps, SpecStream, Attach a SpecStream list, then search for it or paste its link. Each person connects their own SpecStream account. Help: https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations/asana
