We make it easy for customers to automate repeatable processes via our Rules engine, helping individuals, teams, and whole companies to save time and reduce needless work. You’ll work at the intersection of product and infrastructure to automate work-about-work, improve productivity, and help people focus on what matters most. About the team
We're a full-stack team with work ranging from web app architecture, UI engineering, infrastructure impact, and backend architecture. Automations sits at the intersection of feature building and platform. As a feature team, we care deeply about product quality, design, and customer impact. As a platform team, we focus on robust technical design, infrastructural stability, and extensibility. As a member of this team, you’ll be challenged to design and implement systems that enable powerful, intuitive rules at scale and to create a platform that accelerates the Rules engine by helping other teams build on top of it.
Automation is built to happen behind the scenes, helping users to manage and organize complex workflows and processes. When it works, it's like magic. But setting up Automations, diagnosing problems, and integrating new tools is the hard part. We're designing and building new patterns that make it easier for users to get started, while also supporting them in building complex and powerful automations as they get more familiar with the product.
Automations team sits at the intersection of several of the most important company initiatives. Rules power Asana AI Studio, our no-code platform that empowers teams to integrate AI-driven automation directly into their workflows. Beyond AI, Rules touch every aspect of the Asana platform, deeply integrating into every part of the user experience. Customers pay for and love Asana because they see their projects continue to be streamlined and made more efficient as they grow. Automation is a critical part of this story.
Responsibilities:
- Be a key contributor to our Automations product and platform, ensuring complex projects are delivered on-time and with high quality.
- Collaborate with product and design to create delightful user experiences that maintain Asana's reputation for power and ease-of-use.
- Develop scalable, reliable systems that power automation for teams of all sizes.
- Share your knowledge and experience with your teammates, fostering strong engineering practices and creating a culture of excellence.
- Experience growth through opportunities to stretch, learn, and shape the trajectory of AI at Asana.

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.
For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $171,00 - 209,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
