Ask Kipwise Agent in Slack to find, create and update your Asana tasks and projects.
Kipwise Agent is an AI teammate in Slack. Connect your own Asana account once, then ask in plain words: what is due this week, create a task from this thread and assign it, move a task to another section or mark it done, add a comment, attach a file from the conversation, create a project or post a project status update. Every change shows an Approve card first and runs with your own Asana permissions, so nothing changes until you approve it. Ask for automations too: "Post here when a task in Launch is completed" watches the project and posts in the channel whenever a task is added, completed, assigned, moved to a section, given a new due date or commented on. Each person connects separately and can disconnect at any time by asking the agent.
a Slack workspace where you can add apps (if your workspace requires app approval, Slack sends your request to an admin).
an Asana account on paid plan.
Add Kipwise Agent to Slack: open https://kipwise.com/integrations/asana-agent and click "Install in Slack". Choose where your data is stored (United States or EU), select your Slack workspace on the Slack screen and click Allow. When the page says "Kipwise Agent installed", click "Open in Slack".
Talk to the agent: send it a direct message, or invite it to a channel (type /invite @Kipwise Agent) and mention @Kipwise Agent, then continue replying in that thread. Mentions in channels work on every Slack plan; the agent view in the app's Messages tab requires a paid Slack plan.
Connect Asana: ask an Asana question, for example "@Kipwise Agent what's due this week in Asana?". The agent replies with a private "Connect Asana" button. Click it, sign in to Asana and click Allow. Asana asks to access your name and email address, your tasks, projects and workspaces, and to create and modify tasks, projects and comments on your behalf. The agent works with your own Asana permissions, so it only sees and changes what you can access. Each person connects once, and the agent then answers the question.
Approve changes: request change in the same thread, for example "add a task 'Draft release notes' to Launch, due Friday". An approval card shows the change; click Approve and the task is created in Asana. Nothing changes in Asana until you approve, and only the person who asked can approve.
Set up automations: in a channel, ask for example "@Kipwise Agent whenever a task in Launch is completed, post it here". Approve the card once, and the agent will post in that channel each time it happens. An automation watches a project or your "My Tasks" for tasks that are added, completed, assigned, moved to a section, given a new due date or commented on.
Disconnect at any time: say "Disconnect my Asana". The agent deletes its stored access, revokes it at Asana and stops your Asana automations.
Troubleshooting: if the Connect Asana button has expired (it lasts 5 minutes), ask again for a new one. If Asana blocks the connection, your Asana admin may restrict third-party apps; ask them to allow Kipwise Agent. More help: https://support.kipwise.com/
