What is Notion?

Notion is a digital workspace that helps you plan, work, and build with others the way you want. With more than 20 million people and hundreds of thousands of teams around the world, Notion consolidates everyday tools into one shared, collaborative space.

Why Notion + Asana?

Asana powers businesses by organizing work in one connected space. Notion’s integration with Asana allows you to improve collaboration and stay up-to-date by viewing the status of Asana projects and tasks as link previews or synced in a database – then use database filters, views, rollups, and relations to connect it across your workflows.

How to connect Notion + Asana

Here’s how to set up the integration:

Asana Link Previews:

  1. When you paste an Asana link in a Notion doc for the first time, you'll see a button that says “Connect to Asana”.
  2. Once you click on the button, you'll be redirected to authenticate your Asana account.
  3. From there, you’ll be able to see the content from the link you pasted directly in your Notion doc. Continue pasting links from Asana tasks to view them in your Notion workspace.
  4. You can manage your connection between Asana and Notion in your Notion workspace in the “Settings & Members” menu under “My Connected Apps”.

Asana Data Sync:

  1. In Asana, copy the link to a project or task.
  2. Paste the link into Notion and select Paste as database.
  3. An empty database with a preset list of properties will show up in your page. It will show up in a Notion table view, with all Asana properties automatically added.
  4. The database will begin populating automatically and will continue to sync if you navigate away from the page.
