What is IssueBadge Certificates?
IssueBadge Certificates turns the work you already track in Asana into verifiable certificates and digital badges. Issue certificates to every assignee in a project at once, or let a Rule issue the certificate automatically the moment a task is completed. The recipient's name and email come from the task assignee or from custom fields, so onboarding checklists, course trackers, safety briefings and compliance projects all work without changing how your team uses Asana. Every issued task receives an attached certificate link and a comment, plus an "IssueBadge certificate" field on paid plans, so views, reports and other rules can build on it. Tasks that already have a certificate are skipped. Requires a free IssueBadge account.
How to connect IssueBadge Certificates + Asana?
Prerequisites:
A free IssueBadge account with at least one badge/certificate design.
Follow these steps to connect IssueBadge Certificates and Asana:
Open https://issuebadge-asana.issuebadge.workers.dev and click "Connect Asana". Approve access for your workspace (scopes: read users, workspaces, projects, tasks and custom fields; write tasks, comments and attachments).
In IssueBadge (https://app.issuebadge.com), open Settings > API and copy your API key. Paste it into step 2 of the app and click "Save & test". The key is stored server-side for your workspace and never sent to the browser.
Pick a project and a badge. Choose the recipient source: the task assignee (name and email from their Asana profile) or two text custom fields holding the learner's name and email. Click "Load tasks" (completed tasks by default), review the list and click "Issue certificates".
Each issued task receives the certificate link as an attachment and a comment, plus the "IssueBadge certificate" custom field on paid Asana plans. Tasks that already have a certificate are skipped, so re-running is safe.
