# OverlayQA

> Capture website bugs with screenshots and technical context, then send them to Asana as tasks

Source: https://asana.com/apps/overlayqa

### What is OverlayQA?

OverlayQA connects your visual QA workflow to Asana. Capture bugs directly on any live website with full technical context (screenshot, CSS values, DOM data, viewport info), then export them as Asana tasks in one click. Each task includes the screenshot as an attachment, page URL, browser details, and design metadata. Supports workspace and project selection. Built for design and frontend teams who use Asana to track visual bugs, accessibility issues, and design debt.

### How to connect OverlayQA + Asana?

###### Prerequisites:
- An OverlayQA account. New accounts start with a free 14-day trial: [https://app.overlayqa.com/sign-up](https://app.overlayqa.com/sign-up)
- An Asana account with permissions to add tasks to your chosen project
- The OverlayQA Chrome extension: [https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/overlayqa/pbnjikbncbjaaimelhlkfihgdkocmmei](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/overlayqa/pbnjikbncbjaaimelhlkfihgdkocmmei)

###### Steps:
- Install the OverlayQA Chrome extension from the link above.
- Open the website you want to review, click the OverlayQA icon in the Chrome toolbar, and sign in to your OverlayQA account.
- Capture feedback on the page: click the element you want to comment on and type your note. OverlayQA saves a screenshot, the page URL, the CSS selector and the browser details.
- In the extension's Issues tab, select the issues you want to send, then choose Actions -> Export -> Asana.
- If connecting for the first time, the Export to Asana window displays a Connect to Asana prompt. Click Connect Asana and approve access on the authorization page (this only needs to be done once).
- Select the Workspace and the Project for the new tasks, then click Export (the button displays the count, e.g., "Export 3 issues").
- Each issue becomes an Asana task with its screenshot attached and page details in the description, and the OverlayQA issue links to the task. When the task is completed, reassigned or commented on in Asana, the OverlayQA issue updates automatically.

You can also connect Asana from the OverlayQA web app: navigate to Integrations at [https://app.overlayqa.com/integrations](https://app.overlayqa.com/integrations) and click Connect on the Asana card.
