Manager, Business Development (BDR / Inside Sales)

We are looking for a Manager for Business Development Representative (BDR / Inside Sales) Team to join our Tokyo-based Japan Sales team. As a BDR Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coaching the team and external vendors, and delivering on the lead generation strategy for the Japan region. You will also be leading by example in driving new outbound leads for commercial, enterprise, and strategic accounts to build a qualified sales pipeline to further scale our business.

The right candidate for this business-critical leadership role will be data-driven, understand top of the funnel and pipeline dynamics, excel at building relationships with our customers and team with a proven track record of B2B SaaS sales experience. This is a great opportunity to further develop your sales leadership skills, analytical and strategic abilities by working with a product-centric team that is perfecting a newer and more profitable technology sales engine.

What you’ll achieve

  • Analyze sales data, identify challenges and work collaboratively with the Head of Japan and the regional Marketing and Revenue Team to develop new scalable outreach strategies
  • Implement creative outbound strategies and generate new business pipeline and interest through calling on outbound leads on strategic accounts
  • Actively coach and professionally develop the team and external vendors regarding strategies to drive conversion rates and opportunity identification
  • Working with global management to assist with inbound funnel analysis, influence data-driven decisions to grow regional pipeline and co-create globally applicable best-practices
  • Translate global strategy into regional initiatives and ensure team’s efficient execution
  • Influence others through the explanation of policies, practices and procedures, both within and outside of job area
  • Represent the Japan BDR team to Sales leadership
  • Meet & exceed monthly and quarterly individual and team targets 

About you

  • Fluent Japanese speaker with business-level fluency in English
  • Proficiency in collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve common goals
  • An analytical thinker who can see trends across vast amounts of data
  • A self-starter who can diagnose inefficiencies and optimize processes to maximize results
  • Strong ability to navigate complex business hierarchies and deal with complicated issues brought forward by c-level executives
  • Impeccable customer skills: communication, empathy, integrity
  • A passion for coaching and developing world class talent
  • Sales leadership experience in B2B SaaS

We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. 

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between JPY 9,680,000 - JPY 14,560,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
