The platform team ensures that developers can expand the power of Asana to improve the process of getting work done.

As a Senior Developer Advocate on our engineering team, your goal will be to lead developers across our ecosystem to success via engagement and empowerment. You will partner with Product and Marketing to build a top-notch developer experience and a thriving, connected developer community around the Asana platform. As the bridge between external developers and Asana, your technical skill, industry expertise, relationships, and broad view on the developer community will be key to shaping the future of the Asana platform.

What you’ll achieve

Own the 3 C’s of developer experience on the Asana platform: Content, Code, and Community
Cultivate relationships with key members of Asana’s developer ecosystem and grow their impact to Asana’s business
Create documentation (e.g. developer guides), tools (e.g. SDKs) and programs (e.g. Early Access) that empower developers to “do great things, fast” at scale
Synthesize, contextualize, and prioritize developer feedback to expand platform capabilities and improve developer experience
Build a multi-channel content strategy for a steady stream of engaging technical content that inspires new ways to extend Asana functionality
Represent the Asana platform as a subject matter expert at developer conferences and other events
Team up with Asana Marketing to identify, articulate, and promote compelling platform use cases through our marketing channels

About you

You have 4+ years of experience working in a developer-facing role with demonstrable success in guiding developers through the full app lifecycle, from ideation through launch to maintenance and support
You have technical skills and expertise commensurate with a full-time coding bootcamp, or equivalent work experience, backed by a strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals
You are fluent in at least 1 general-purpose programming language with which you have developed non-trivial apps and/or libraries
You are an excellent technical writer and an expert at illuminating technical topics at varying levels of detail across an audience with varying levels of expertise
You are experienced in nurturing a long-lasting developer community
You are passionate about empowering others with a servant leadership mindset
You are a master at working cross-functionally and wearing multiple hats
