Asana Tips: Profile Settings & Do Not Disturb

Watch this video to set up your user profile and use Asana's Do Not Disturb feature.

Wherever you're working, clarifying your role and working hours sets clear expectations and boundaries for yourself and your teammates. Here's how Asana can help. In one hover, your Asana profile can clarify a lot in very little space to everyone across your organization. Set up your profile by clicking your avatar and going to "My Profile Settings."

You'll see fields for details about you and your role. Your "About me" section could include your city, timezone, and schedule. Asana can help you and your teammates stick to that schedule with do not disturb settings. Head one tab over to "Notifications."

To set yourself as "do not disturb" on the fly, click "Pause notifications" and tell Asana when you'll be available again. To set a regular do not disturb schedule, choose time ranges and dates when you don't want to be notified. Teammates can see the snoozing bell in your name, so they know you're away. Now you can have peace of mind when needed, and at the end of every day.

Here are some more tips to set up your Asana Profile:

  • Use the “About me” section to clarify your role and working hours
  • Hover over a teammate’s avatar to quickly read their profile
  • Manually schedule do not disturb for focus time
  • Schedule recurring do not disturb ranges easily
  • Your avatar will gray out and let team members know when you’re not receiving notifications
