Multi-Select

Multi-select is an easy and efficient way to take action on multiple tasks at once.

To select multiple tasks in the center pane, use any of the following methods:

Click + Shift + Click

  • Click the first task in your desired selection
  • Hold the Shift key on your keyboard
  • Click the last task in your desired selection

Click + Shift + Arrows

  • Click the first task in your desired selection
  • Hold the Shift key on your keyboard
  • Use the up or down arrows to select adjacent tasks

Click + Drag

  • Click the first task in your desired selection
  • Drag the mouse to the last task in your desired selection

Ctrl/Cmd + Click (for non-adjacent tasks)

  • Hold the Control or Command key on your keyboard
  • Click each desired task

Once multi-selected, you can choose to do any of the following to all the tasks in the selection at once:

  • Mark the tasks complete or incomplete
  • Change the assignee for all of the tasks
  • Add projects or tags to all of the tasks
  • Add or remove due dates (this will change any existing due dates)
  • Follow or unfollow the group of tasks
  • Heart or unheart all of the tasks
  • Delete the selection

Remember you can use keyboard shortcuts to take most of the actions listed above.

Consider using multi-select to:

Adjust Priority

If you use priority headings to group tasks in a project, use multi-select to move a selection of tasks to a different priority heading as you move through your workflow or as you reprioritize.

Clean Up Your Tasks

Multi-select stale tasks and mark them complete.

Convert a project to a tag

If you’ve been keeping track of a certain kind of task in a project, but realize it should be a tag, multi-select the list, add the tag, and remove the project.
