### Why Slack + Asana?

With Slack + Asana, teams can turn Slack conversations and ideas into actionable tasks and projects in Asana, driving mission-critical work forward across their entire organization. Go from quick questions and action items to tasks with assignees and due dates.

#### Ways to use the Slack + Asana integration

Easily capture work so requests and to-dos don’t get lost in Slack. Turn any Slack message into an actionable Asana task with just a few clicks.

With the Slack + Asana integration, you can:
- Create a new task, assign it to yourself or a teammate, and add it to an existing project
- See Asana data like tasks, milestones, projects, portfolios, and more
- Comment on a task
- Mark a task complete
- List all tasks in your workspace or organization
- Receive updates on task creation, completion, or comments and status updates for portfolios, goals, or projects

_Please note that updates from private projects, portfolios, and goals may be sent to a Slack channel that includes members who are not members of the private projects, portfolios, or goals._

#### Stay up to date with AI-generated summaries

With [Asana AI](https://asana.com/product/ai), teams have the power to quickly summarize Asana tasks directly in Slack. This makes it easier for your teams to get the latest status of work and surface key takeaways without having to send emails, schedule meetings, or switch between tools.

Once an Asana task link is pasted in Slack, you can simply click on the “Summarize task” button and a summary is generated. With this summary, you can stay up to date on cross-functional updates faster, whether you’re getting caught up after time off, joining a project mid-stream, or keeping an eye on work you’re not actively involved in.

#### Surface insights and recommendations with AI

Teams can also leverage Asana AI to easily surface insights and recommendations to accelerate work. You can ask questions to understand the latest updates on projects and tasks, identify next steps, uncover key blockers, and more, all within your Slack workspace. This ensures teams are getting timely signals so they can focus on the highest-impact areas without having to switch between tools.

To access the chat capabilities, navigate to the Asana icon in the quick access menu in the top-right corner of your Slack workspace and click to “Chat with Asana”. If this icon is not visible, you can add it by going to your user preferences, clicking Navigation, and selecting it from the "App agents" section. If you don't see it listed, you'll likely need to request your admin to enable it for your workspace first.

_Note: Availability of Asana's AI-powered features may depend on your domain settings. AI can make mistakes, so always check outputs for accuracy._
