# Nateq + Asana

> Turn conversations into Asana tasks and link them to existing work.

### What is Nateq?

Nateq is a customer support platform for teams handling WhatsApp, email, live chat, and social messages in one inbox.

When a conversation turns into engineering work, an agent raises an Asana task from the thread itself — the customer's description is carried across, with a link back to the conversation on the task.

Agents can also search Asana and attach the conversation to a task that already exists, so the third customer to report a bug joins the task the first one produced instead of opening a duplicate.

From there, it stays in step: completing the task reopens the conversation so the customer hears about the fix they reported, comments posted in Asana reach the agent as a note, and an agent can reply or mark the task done without leaving the inbox.

###### Example use case:

A customer messages on WhatsApp that a parcel was marked delivered but never arrived. The agent presses Link work, searches Asana, and finds the operations team is already tracking it. They link the conversation instead of opening a duplicate. When ops completes the task, the conversation reopens, and the agent tells the customer.

### How to connect Nateq + Asana?

###### Prerequisites:
- A Nateq workspace (sign up at [https://nateq.io](https://nateq.io)).
- An Asana account with access to at least one project. The connecting user must be able to see the projects they want tasks filed into.

###### Connect Asana:
- In Nateq, go to Settings → Integrations.
- Find the Asana card and press Connect. A popup opens Asana's consent screen.
- Grant access. The popup closes and the card shows Connected.
- Optional: open the Asana card and press Test connection. This makes a real call to Asana (GET /users/me) and reports the connected account, so a revoked or expired grant is visible before anyone relies on it.

###### Raise work from a conversation:
- Open any conversation in the Inbox.
- In the right-hand details panel, find LINKED WORK and press Link work.
- Choose Asana as the tracker, then either:
- Create new — pick a project, confirm the title (seeded from the conversation) and add a description. The task is created with a link back to the conversation.
- Link existing — type a few words, press Search, and click a result. Use this when the issue has already been reported by someone else.
- The linked task appears in the panel with its live status.

###### What happens after that:
- Status flows back. When the task is completed in Asana, the linked item updates in Nateq, and a conversation that had been closed reopens so the customer can be told the problem they reported is fixed.
- Comments flow both ways. A comment added to the task in Asana appears in the conversation as an internal note (never sent to the customer). An agent can post a comment to the task from the panel without leaving the inbox.
- An agent can mark the task complete from the panel.

###### How to disconnect:

Settings → Integrations → Asana → Disconnect. This removes the stored credentials and unregisters the webhooks Nateq created.
