# DepFlow + Asana

> Automatic task dependencies — set when your Asana rules run.

### What is DepFlow?

DepFlow turns dependency wiring into an Asana rule action. Instead of opening every task and setting "blocked by" by hand, DepFlow sets the dependencies for you the moment your rule runs.

Chain subtasks so each step waits for the one before it. Make a parent task wait for all its subtasks, or make subtasks wait for the parent — perfect for approvals. Chain a whole section into a production line, or gate one section on another finishing for full stage gates.

Everything DepFlow creates is a native Asana dependency you can see, edit, or remove like any other. DepFlow only ever adds dependencies — it never changes or deletes your tasks. Chaining subtasks and creating single-task dependencies are free; advanced modes are PRO with a 7-day free trial, and one license covers your whole workspace.

### How to connect DepFlow + Asana?
- Click "Install DepFlow for Asana" and approve access — this connects your Asana workspace to DepFlow.
- Open any project → Customize → Rules → Add rule.
- Choose a trigger (e.g. "Run manually") and add a DepFlow action: "Add dependency" or "Wire up subtasks".
- Pick a mode (e.g. Chain subtasks) and publish the rule.
- Open a task and run the rule — DepFlow sets the dependencies automatically.
